Someone get Dick Cheney on the line, because the Iowa Republican Party needs an "undisclosed location" in which to count the impending caucus votes, sources tell Politico. Last election, votes were tabulated at the state’s GOP headquarters in Des Moines, but this year, with Occupy protesters planning to make themselves heard during the caucuses, officials may be trying to guard against disruptions.
Sources also say that they’re worried about other threats, like hacking. The state’s GOP chair would say only that the party is "taking additional safeguards," to protect the count, but would not comment "on specific security procedures." (More Iowa caucuses stories.)
