Another Wealth Flub for Romney at NASCAR Race?

Mitt Romney's attempts to show he's just a regular guy continue to go awry. At an appearance at the Daytona 500 yesterday (which was rained out for the first time in history), Romney was asked by an AP reporter if he follows NASCAR. "Not as closely as some of the most ardent fans. But I have some great friends who are NASCAR team owners," he replied.

No big surprise that Democrats were quick to use the sound bite to paint Romney as out of touch with regular voters because of his extreme wealth, reports CBS News. "I don't know people who fish but I know people who own yachts," joked one Democratic Party operative on Twitter. The remark comes just a few days after a flub in Michigan, where he noted his wife drives "a couple of Cadillacs." (More Mitt Romney stories.)
