Teenagers today are perilously familiar with guns. In a new survey from Teenage Research Unlimited, 44% said they could get a handgun if they wanted to, WBEZ reports. About a third of respondents also said that they personally knew someone who'd been shot, and 37% say they actively fear being shot themselves. About half of the 600 kids surveyed think the US would be safer without any handguns, compared to about 25% who said adults should be able to carry loaded guns in public. (More teenager stories.)
