Who says pollsters aren't good for anything? Not Bobby Berlin. The New York City woman had just gotten a call asking how she felt about Michael Bloomberg when she went into diabetic shock, NBC New York reports. "Something just sounded off," says the pollster, a Marist College student. "It was just really heavy breathing and panting." He called his supervisor, who asked if Berlin was OK. "No," Berlin replied.

The pollsters kept her on the line as they called 911. "The man from the ambulette said I would have died during the night," Berlin says. The Marist employees visited Berlin in the hospital Wednesday for a personal thank-you. She says her main regret is that she never got to answer their questions. When NBC asked if she had opinions about the mayor, she replied, "I certainly do, and they are all negative." (More pollsters stories.)
