Lance Armstrong has no idea what's about to happen to him. Cheating athletes never do. "Where is Barry Bonds today?" Jeff Pearlman writes for CNN. "Answer: Who the hell cares? His website is down. His cards can be had, straight up, in exchange for two Kirk McCaskills and a Sil Campusano. … He is insignificant." Now it's Armstrong's turn. Sure he denies the latest doping allegations against him, but his denials are "ludicrous," and his actions indefensible.

Lance's deception "is beyond damaging," Pearlman argues. "Across the world, millions of people believe in Armstrong's narrative." Sick kids everywhere have been "told that one day, if you stay strong and fight and believe, you, too, can be just like Lance Armstrong." He probably convinced himself that there was no other way, that everyone was cheating. But that's a lie. Some athletes have the integrity that Armstrong didn't. "We'll look back at his cycling reign and shrug, because it will be merely an illusion." (More Lance Armstrong stories.)
