Porn legend Ron Jeremy and twin Playboy bunnies were enlisted in a scheme to capture porn actor Luka Rocco Magnotta long before his arrest for allegedly killing and dismembering his lover, the Globe and Mail reports. Animal rights group Rescue Ink, which believed Magnotta was behind a series of online kitten-killing videos, hatched a scheme in which Jeremy was to lure Magnotta to Los Angeles with the offer of a role in a porn film. The group planned to be waiting for him at the site and bring him to authorities. Rescue Ink approached Jeremy, an animal rights advocate, early last year with the help of supporters Sia and Shane Barbi, former Playboy centerfolds known as the Barbi twins.

Jeremy was initially game, but backed out after Rescue Ink made it clear that they believed Magnotta was a danger to humans and there was a chance Jeremy could get hurt. "It’s like an episode from some TV show. The [guy] comes to the set with lube in one hand and his schmeckle in the other thinking he has a job, and the cops tackle him to the ground," Jeremy tells the Canadian Press. "That’s good for the movies. That doesn’t work in real life." Jeremy says a larger casting call with more people around would have been a safer option for catching Magnotta, but there wasn't room in his schedule to organize it.
