Benazir Bhutto has been buried alongside her father in her family mausoleum outside the southern city of Naudero. The Times of London reports that hundreds of thousands of mourners lined the streets as the funeral cortege made its way through the town. Her widower, Asif Ali Zardari, and their three teenage children accompanied the coffin, and Zardari called for the government to resign.

Grieving supporters chanted slogans, including "Shame on the killer Musharraf, shame on the killer US." They wept and beat their heads as the coffin, draped in the flag of her party, arrived at the huge mausoleum that also houses the body of her father, the executed prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. At least 19 people have died in violent scenes across the country following the opposition leader's assassination. (More Benazir Bhutto stories.)
