Move over Harry; these days, readers demand Katniss. The Hunger Games trilogy has now outsold the entire Harry Potter series on Amazon, the company announced today. "Interestingly, this series is only three books versus Harry Potter's seven," Amazon's editorial director tells the Wall Street Journal. "To achieve this result in just four years is a great testament to both the popularity of the work and, we think, the growth in reading digitally."

Amazon's figure counts Kindle sales, which is a big boost for the Hunger Games, which is also the most-borrowed book in the Kindle library. The Potter books are all available as ebooks as well, but that's only been the case since March, according to the Guardian. It's also worth noting that when Harry debuted in 1997, Amazon wasn't quite the juggernaut it is today. (More Amazon stories.)
