Eleven people were shot outside the Empire State Building this morning and two, including the gunman, are reportedly dead. The male gunman may have been a disgruntled employee who may have been fired from his job in or near the Empire State Building, MSNBC reports; the New York Post says the shooting started as "a dispute between coworkers" and reports that the two were fighting on the sidewalk before one started shooting.

He reportedly followed and killed his coworker before returning to the Empire State Building to shoot random bystanders. The fire department got a call about the shooting at the corner of 34th Street and Fifth Avenue around 9am, the AP reports. The gunman was shot and killed by an NYPD officer.
