Facebook Building Office Designed by Frank Gehry

A little sliding stock isn't keeping Mark Zuckerberg from thinking big about Facebook's future. The company has enlisted world-renowned architect Frank Gehry to design its first custom-built office site, reports AllFacebook. Gehry envisions one giant building "that manages to avoid the look of a warehouse or hangar by having angled walls that zig-zag along the length of the building," writes Martyn Williams at PCWorld. The new Campus West will go up across the highway from the company's current campus in Menlo Park.

"Just like we do now, everyone will sit out in the open, with desks that can be quickly shuffled around as teams form and break apart around projects," writes Facebook's Everett Katigbak. (His post has photos.) The outside will have lots of trees, including a rooftop garden. No word on the cost, except that it's said to be in line with other Silicon Valley campuses. The company will submit plans to Menlo Park officials on Monday and expects to break ground in early 2013. (More Facebook stories.)
