Mitt Romney will finally take the stage at the Republican National Convention tonight, in what Politico deems "the most important political moment of his life." Expect Romney, who's talked less about his biography than most candidates, to open up a bit about his past and try to show America his softer side. He'll even touch on his religion, something he rarely does, the AP reports. His goal is to "make the argument that all these things have prepared him" to be president, a campaign adviser said.

Other highlights to look out for:

  • Romney won't just mention his Mormon faith in his speech; several members of the church are scheduled to share stories about him.
  • In another biographical touch, three former Olympians will speak, in an effort to highlight Romney's Salt Lake City turnaround effort, USA Today reports.
  • Marco Rubio will introduce Romney, and he's expected to focus more on the candidate than some previous speakers (cough, Chris Christie, cough).
  • The press is also buzzing with rumors of a "mystery guest." Our money's on Clint Eastwood, but other names being thrown around include Sarah Palin, George HW Bush, Nancy Reagan, Dick Cheney, and, of course, the Donald.
