Ticket sales continued to sag this weekend as Jake Gyllenhaal and Jennifer Lawrence tied at the box office and sci-fi action flick Dredd 3D fared poorly, the LA Times reports. Gyllenhaal's police drama End of Watch and Lawrence's horror film House at the End of the Street each banked $13 million, while Clint Eastwood's baseball movie Trouble With the Curve bunted for a single at $12.7 million.

But Dredd 3D, which cost $40 million and whipped up positive hype at Comic-Con this summer, made just $6.3 million on about 2,500 screens—a poor showing compared to the Paul Thomas Anderson drama The Master, which raked in $5 million at only 788 locations. The Perks of Being a Wallflower did well on limited release, grossing $244,000 on four screens, and Ted broke $200 million internationally, pushing its overall gross to $419 million—the third-best ever for a comedy worldwide.
