A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck early today off the eastern coast of Japan. The tremor, which rumbled 5.6 miles deep, was located 60 miles from Miyako, reports CNN. The quake struck just a year and a half after a massive 9.0 quake triggered a huge tsunami off Japan, causing thousands of deaths and a nuclear crisis. There were no immediate reports of deaths or damage today, reports CNN. (More Japan stories.)
