Iran's latest idea: cause an oil spill in the Persian Gulf that would punish the West and force its leaders to play nice with Tehran, the Jerusalem Post reports. Such a spill would also drive up oil prices, induce Western countries help clean it up, and perhaps lead them to reduce sanctions on Iran. Called "Murky Waters," the scheme was dreamed up by a commander in Iran's Revolutionary Guard. It is currently under consideration on Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's desk, according to an article in today's Der Spiegel. (More Iran stories.)
