Brodeur blanks rival Flyers while Carolina slips past Atlanta

After blowing a three-goal lead midway through the game, stars Dany Heatley and Daniel Alfredsson each scored inside the last five minutes as Ottawa beat host Buffalo last night 5-3. Much-maligned Senators goalie Ray Emery made 36 saves to earn the victory. The Sabres have scored only eight goals during their current five-game winless streak, reports the AP. Elsewhere on the ice:

Martin Brodeur posted his 96th career shutout as the first-place Devils beat Philly for the fourth straight time, 3-0. The game had some fireworks as Flyers defenseman Derian Hatcher bit Travis Zajac during a second-period fight.
Cory Stillman scored on a two-man advantage late in the game as Carolina beat Atlanta, 4-3, holding Ilya Kovalchuk without a point.
