Need a reminder about the dangers of driving at .50 blood alcohol level? An inebriated Oregon man dangled off an overpass in his truck for nearly an hour yesterday while rescue crews struggled to save him, the Oregonian reports. Matthew Hamilton, 38, had driven his pickup off an overpass in Beaverton—and would have gone right over, but his back tires got caught in the guardrail. So he hung there while crews tied his truck to a fire engine and rescued him by using a basket from an engine below.

Hamilton was taken to hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Police arrested him for driving drunk—more than six times over the legal limit, in fact—and driving with a suspended license from an earlier DUI charge. (More DUI stories.)
