Alabama Men Arrested on Terror Charges

Two Alabama men have been arrested in Georgia on terrorism charges, and authorities say they wanted to wage violent jihad overseas. Randy "Rasheed" Wilson and Mohammad Abdul Rahman Abukhdair, both 25, met online in 2010, and Wilson allegedly told an FBI employee that they planned to go overseas together to participate in jihad. Wilson is a friend and former roommate of Omar Hammami, another Alabama native recently added to the FBI's list of most-wanted terror suspects, authorities say.

Abukhdair was arrested in Egypt in 2010 on suspicion of being involved with terrorists; he was deported to the US after being held there for two months. He was arrested at a bus terminal, and Wilson was nabbed while trying to board a Morocco-bound flight. Both are charged with conspiring to provide material support to terrorists with plans to kill people outside the US, the AP reports. (More terrorism stories.)
