Gunshots rang out at a San Antonio movie theater last night, sending moviegoers scrambling for the exits and barricading themselves in bathroom stalls, and leaving two people injured, the Express-News reports. The incident started at a Chinese restaurant nearby and "carried on into the theater," a detective says. The lone suspect was wounded, possibly by an off-duty police officer who was working at the theater, then taken into custody.

The suspect may have been targeting a co-worker, according to an employee from a different location of the restaurant involved, who was at the scene. At one point, he fired at a police patrol car. "He was shooting at a marked unit," the detective says. "He knows he was shooting at an officer so that's [an] automatic [charge of] attempted capital murder." WNDU reports that the incident started as a domestic dispute, and says the suspect shot someone while running through the parking lot. He was then reportedly shot after running into the theater bathroom. (More shooting stories.)
