William "Billy" Jones disappeared almost exactly 50 years ago while playing with his sister in the snow outside their New Jersey home—and local police and the FBI are still looking for him, reports Fox News. No body was ever found, raising the possibility that he was not killed, but instead raised by someone else, perhaps an adult who had recently lost a child. "It’s a gut feeling for me, I know he’s still alive," said Billy's sister Jill, now 52 years old. "There’s never been a body found, never been anything found. I don’t believe he’s dead."
"There's not a lot of the family left," an FBI agent tells Fox. "That has also impacted the investigation. Only his sister remains." Fox shares a few potentially identifying details: He had a vaccination scar on the rear of his left arm that looked like a giraffe; he loved the family dog, named Babycakes. Interesting side note: The local police detective who reportedly reopened the case in 2009 had not been born when Billy went missing. (More William Jones stories.)
