Today is the second anniversary of Gabrielle Giffords' shooting, and she and Mark Kelly mark the occasion by launching a group pushing for "responsible" gun laws. "Until now, the gun lobby's political contributions, advertising, and lobbying have dwarfed spending from anti-gun-violence groups. No longer," they write in an Arizona Republic op-ed. "With Americans for Responsible Solutions engaging millions of people … legislators will no longer have reason to fear the gun lobby." "We don't want to take away your guns any more than we want to give up the two guns we have locked in a safe at home," they add, arguing that most Americans want the kind of reasonable reforms they do.
