Clinton Strikes Back Over MLK

Hillary Clinton struck back today in an increasingly aggressive debate over race and war in the Democratic primary contest, Politico reports. On "Meet the Press," Clinton interrupted Tim Russert's questions as she accused Obama of "deliberately distorting her comments" about Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Obama's campaign has "been telling people, in a very selective way, what the facts are," she said.

Clinton also defended her husband's "fairy tale" remark and accused Obama yet again of shifting his stance on the Iraq war. After her taping, Obama reacted in a conference call, expressing shock that he is blamed for Clinton's "ill-advised remark" that it "took a president"—Lyndon Johnson—to realize King's dream.
