Remember the former Navy SEAL who came forward to describe how he killed Osama bin Laden but now can't find a job? The account by "The Shooter" in Esquire of how the raid went down is "total BS," another SEAL tells CNN. The guy who deserves credit is a still-anonymous "point man" who shot bin Laden in the head when the terror leader poked his head out his bedroom door, he says. The point man then entered the room and risked his life by corralling two women in case they planned to detonate a suicide bomb, he adds.
After the point man entered the room, two other SEALs followed and finished off the mortally wounded bin Laden by shooting him as he lay on the ground. One of those two SEALs was the man featured in Esquire and the other was Mark Bissonette, who wrote a book about the raid called No Easy Day. This latest version of events is pretty much the way Bissonette described the raid. The new SEAL to come forward, anonymously, says the point man will never "in a million years" talk about his role in public. He also says the Esquire SEAL got booted from the unit because he was bragging about his role in Virginia Beach bars. Click for the full story. (More Osama bin Laden stories.)
