Karl Rove won't have Ashley Judd to kick around anymore. The actress tweeted today that she will not run for Senate in Kentucky this fall. Judd thanked all those who had encouraged her in recent months, but "after serious and thorough contemplation, I realize that my responsibilities & energy at this time need to be focused on my family. " (The full statement is on her website.) Democrats think minority leader Mitch McConnell is vulnerable, but it won't be the liberal Judd who tries to unseat him. It didn't help that while she is a native Kentuckian, Judd lives in Tennessee most of the time now, reports Politico. Its report notes that she spoke to Harry Reid this week.
