A man on a boat in a Cuban marina tells CNN that he is Josh Hakken, the father being sought by Florida authorities who say he and his wife, Sharyn, kidnapped their own two sons from the boys' grandparents' house. Now, the AP reports, it's not certain whether authorities will be able to bring the family home, though federal officials are on the case. A State Department rep says that the US Interest Section in Havana "is aware of the case and is in contact with local authorities," but had no further comment. The US and Cuba do not have an extradition treaty.

Police say Hakken tied up his mother-in-law and kidnapped the boys, ages 2 and 4, last week, a day after his wife's parents received permanent custody. Last year, the Hakkens lost custody following Josh Hakken's arrest on drug possession; he allegedly held up a foster home at gunpoint to try to get them back. Officials have characterized Josh Hakken as "anti-government." (More Florida stories.)
