Obama Decries 'Act of Terror'

President Obama used the "T" word today, calling the Boston Marathon bombing an "act of terror," USA Today reports. Obama hadn't uttered that word during his initial remarks last night, raising some eyebrows given the kerfuffle that surrounded the word in the wake of the Benghazi attack.

Beyond that, Obama's remarks today, which followed a briefing from his National Security Team, illuminated little. He said it was unclear if the attack was the work of an international or domestic terrorist, or whether it was the work of a group or a "malevolent individual." The attacker's motive also remains unclear. "Clearly, we are at the beginning of our investigation," he said, according to the AP. Before his remarks, Obama ordered the White House's flag lowered to half-mast as "a mark of respect" for the victims. (More Barack Obama stories.)
