President Obama and the first lady took part in a memorial service in Waco, Texas, this afternoon for the victims of last week's fertilizer plant explosion. While the "eyes of the world may have been fixed on places far away, our hearts have also been here in your time of tribulation," Obama said at the Baylor University service. "You are not alone. You are not forgotten." The blast killed 14, including 12 first-responders. "No words adequately describe the courage that was displayed on that deadly night," said Obama. "What I can do is offer the love and support and prayers of the nation." Gov. Rick Perry made a similar point: "First-responders know better than anyone that there's no such thing as a routine emergency, but it didn't slow them down as they raced toward that burning factory."
