Oregon police are charging a 17-year-old boy as an adult after they say they recovered at least six bombs that he allegedly planned to use in a Columbine-esque attack on his high school. Grant Alan Acord was arrested Thursday night, reports the Oregonian, and charged with two counts each of possession of and manufacture of a destructive device. “This was a very methodical process,” says a police spokesman, adding that Acord had a timeline and checklist that sought "to model the Columbine shootings with some adjustments that would make it a greater success."
Acord also faces attempted aggravated murder charges, adds CNN, which require that he be tried as an adult. Police say they found devices including pipe bombs, Molotov cocktails, and a napalm bomb hidden beneath the floorboards of Acord's room at his mother's house. Police have swept West Albany High School for explosives twice ahead of students' return to classes on Tuesday. Also on Tuesday, Acord is expected to make his first appearance in court.
