5 Craziest Crimes of the Week

When it comes to this week's crime stories, the cream of the crop involve no guns or explosives or swords. Instead, less conventional items factor in: like scorching-hot hot sauce and a severed pig's head. This week's top 5:

  1. Overly Long 'Test Drive' Gets Man Arrested: It's kind of like that episode of Seinfeld, just with a less glorious ending. Florida police say Lloyd Kraft took a Ford F-250 out for a spin. Then things got weird.
  2. It's a Rough Time to Be a Taco Bell Employee: The only thing worse than manning the drive-through at 1:23am? Having drinks thrown at you by your customers—who turned out to be less-than-brilliant alleged criminals.

  1. Women Tormented Ex With Pig's Head, Say Cops: The charge: unlawful persecution. The alleged crime: Putting "parts of slaughtered animals" on dolls. And that's not all.
  2. Firefighter Guarding Fallen Hero Hit by Thief: This week's entry in the People Really Stink Department comes out of Texas, where a firefighter sitting with the body of one of four colleagues who died in a Houston fire last week had his car broken into while he was at the funeral home. But there's a happy ending.
  3. Hot Sauce Prank Sends 3 to Hospital: It looked like a normal plate of spaghetti marinara, perfectly edible by school cafeteria standards. But when a Chicago high school student bit into it, he got a rude awakening.
