A second man has died as a result of yesterday's chemical plant explosion in Geisner, Louisiana. Scott Thrower, 47, died in hospital today, suffering burn wounds. Six others remain in hospital, CNN reports. The plant's manager says the cause of the blast is still unknown. "We have been waiting for the last amounts of residual hydrocarbons to escape from the ... piping through the night," he says. "An investigation to determine what happened is still pending and will begin as soon as our team is allowed to go back into the plant by the state police." (More Louisiana stories.)
