20 Celebs in Hot Water With Entire Countries

Celebrities get VIP access to pretty much everywhere, right? Not necessarily: Wonderwall rounds up 20 celebrities who have been banned from (or at least gotten into a beef with) entire countries:

• Richard Gere has been permanently banned from China because he's a little too close to the Dalai Lama, and an activist for Tibet.
• Another star who can't enter China: Brad Pitt, thanks to his role in Seven Years in Tibet. Chinese authorities didn't like how the movie portrayed their country.
• Her 2010 Las Vegas arrest for drug possession got Paris Hilton barred from Japan.
• Snoop Lion (or, if you prefer his former name, Snoop Dogg) has been rejected from not one, not two, but three countries, including Norway and the UK.
• In 2010, Lindsay Lohan tweeted, "Over 40 children saved so far ... Within one day's work," claiming to be in India—but she wasn't actually there, and the country considered banning her over it.

• A 2006 Jay Z concert in China was canceled over the rapper's "vulgar language."
• An entire leg of Chris Brown's 2010 tour had to be canceled when the UK denied him entry over his criminal past.
• Thanks to Martha Stewart's "serious criminal offenses" and convictions in the US, she was barred from entering the UK.
• Noel Gallagher played in the Free Tibet Benefit Concert, and more than 10 years later, Oasis was banned from playing in China.
• Even the Beatles were once banned from a country. Israel was afraid the band would "corrupt" kids, but almost 60 years later, Israel changed its mind.
