One bonus of not winning any awards last night at the Emmys: You didn't have to pay to get into Jon Hamm and Amy Poehler's Losers Party, an after-party held at Soho House. Winners, on the other hand, had to make a $1,000 donation to World Wide Orphans to get in, and more than $30,000 was raised. Some of the losers chipped in, too, E! reports; anyone who made a donation got a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue with a personal engraving. The idea was sparked by a gathering last year in Kristen Wiig's hotel.
"We called it the Losers Lounge because nobody that was there won and it kind of stuck," Hamm explains. "We were like, 'That was a really fun party. We should do that again, but we should do it bigger and better and invite our friends who aren't going to win either and we'll have a good time with it.'" How did Poehler get in on it? "Poehler and I are friends from a long time ago and every year when we would lose the Emmy we would kind of wink at each other and call each other loser for the rest of the night," he says. Spotted at the party: Tina Fey, Judd Apatow, Bill Hader, Zooey Deschanel, Jimmy Kimmel, Fred Armisen, Seth Meyers, and Elisabeth Moss, among many others. (Didn't watch the Emmys?
