The latest proof that celebrities are just like us: Anthony Hopkins binge-watched Breaking Bad over a period of two weeks, and to say he was impressed is a bit of an understatement. Upon finishing the last episode, around midnight on a recent evening, Hopkins immediately dashed off an email to lead actor Bryan Cranston. "Your performance as Walter White was the best acting I have seen—ever," the Oscar winner wrote, before extending his praise to the rest of the ensemble: "You and all the cast are the best actors I've ever seen."
"That may sound like a good lung full of smoke blowing. But it is not. It's almost midnight out here in Malibu, and I felt compelled to write this email," Hopkins writes. "I know there is so much smoke blowing and sickening bulls--- in this business, and I've sort of lost belief in anything really. But this work of yours is spectacular—absolutely stunning." Hopkins asked Cranston to pass along his praise, and co-star Steven Michael Quezada posted the letter on Facebook (it appears to have been taken down).
