Cellphone Saves Clerk From Bullet
This Monday, Oct. 28, 2013 photo photo provided by the Winter Garden Police Department shows the back of the cellphone belonging to a Winter Garden, Fla. Hess gas station clerk.   (Uncredited)

Police say a cellphone saved a Florida gas station clerk from a robber's bullet. A man entered the gas station in Winter Garden yesterday and asked a clerk for help. Then he showed the worker a revolver and demanded he open the safe. When the clerk couldn't open the safe, the robber ordered a second clerk to try. He was also unsuccessful. The suspect fired a round at the abdomen of one of the clerks and fled; police say the clerk's cellphone stopped the bullet.

Police say the worker had no idea the bullet had hit his phone until he pulled it out of his shirt pocket. He suffered just minor injuries. (More strange stuff stories.)
