Voting to defang ObamaCare is House Republicans' favorite hobby, but today they'll put forward a health care bill that might actually draw some votes from across the aisle. The bill would allow insurers to keep selling their current plans, even if they don't meet the Affordable Care Act's standards, the Hill reports. At least five Democrats have publicly said they support the measure, and Democratic leadership hasn't even said if it will try to persuade members not to.

President Obama yesterday promised a similar fix, but his would be narrower, extending policies only for current holders, and only for one year. That still might dissuade some Democrats from voting for the House bill, but many are openly annoyed at the president. "It's been on him all along, and look where we are," one said. Obama also intends to allow states to opt out of his fix, CNN reports, and Washington state has already announced that it will, according to the AP. Some other states, including Virginia, Kentucky, and Idaho, already require all plans to meet ACA standards. (More ObamaCare stories.)
