Walking out on a bill isn't just bad manners; as one Florida man discovered recently, it's also dangerous. David Roberts tells police that he was shot by prostitute Dwaynesha White on Monday, after trying to run out without paying her. Roberts said he'd made an appointment at White's home, but then slipped out while she was in the bathroom after doing the deed, Local 10 reports. He was walking by a nearby tire store when a vehicle pulled up and an angry White emerged saying, "Give me the money, or I'll shoot."
Roberts threw his arms in the air, wallet in hand. White took it, but then allegedly returned to her car, got a gun, and shot him. "He was giving up the wallet," one police lieutenant tells the Miami Herald. "He still got shot anyway." Police took Roberts to the hospital, and he was soon discharged. When they caught up with White she "openly stated that she is a call girl," the police report says, but when it came to the shooting, said she "did not know what we were talking about."
