The NFL today fined Seattle Seahawks player Richard Sherman $7,875 for taunting, though it's apparently not because of his volatile post-game interview. Instead, it seems to be for the choking gesture he made toward the 49ers QB at the end of the game, reports BuzzFeed. But as for that interview, an editorial board member for the Seattle Times thinks the city could learn a thing or two from Sherman. "Seattle could use a little more trash-talking," writes Sharon Pian Chan. "This city needs some swagger." It's just too nice.
"Instead of doing a touchdown dance, Seattle would prefer to wring its hands about whether it’s a world-class city," writes Chan. "Our Scandinavian founders would probably prefer the Denver quarterback Peyton Manning’s 'aw, shucks' to Sherman’s bravado." Not Chan. Not anymore. "I aim to Sherman-ate."
