A huge Burmese python shot and killed by a snake control agent in the Florida Everglades is long enough to swallow the world's two tallest people with room to spare, but the 18-footer is just shy of the state record. The 150-pound female was measured at 18 feet 2 inches, a little shorter than the 18-foot-8 monster found by a roadside last spring, LiveScience finds. The carcass has been sent to University of Florida biologists who are trying to stop the spread of the invasive reptiles that are wiping out native wildlife, reports the Miami Herald.
