(AP Photo/David Duprey) (Associated Press) The most recent Buffalo-New Jersey game was the fourth straight to end in a shootout; for a change, though, the Sabres won. Drew Stafford and Henrik Tallinder both hit net against Devils goalie Martin Brodeur, and Buffalo's Ryan Miller was able to halt Brian Gionta's wrister for the win—the fifth in the Sabres' last six games. The shootout helped Buffalo atone for Miller's own goal in the middle of the third period; defenseman Dmitri Kalinin inadvertently caromed the puck off the goalie while trying to clear it, evening the score at two. Miller ended with 24 saves to Brodeur's 20. (More NHL stories.) Report an error
