(AP Photo/Duane Burleson) (Associated Press) Chauncey Billups got Detroit out of the gate quickly with 17 points in the first quarter as the Pistons won their seventh straight, 91-82 over Portland, reports the Detroit News. And since the game wasn't as close as the final score indicated, Pistons coach Flip Saunders was able to rest his starters for extended stretches: none played over 28 minutes. Saunders lauded the play of his bench guys, particularly Amir Johnson, who outscored their backup counterparts 28-4 in the first half. The Blazers' LaMarcus Aldridge continued his excellent play against Detroit, with another 22-point effort to lead all scorers. Portland played without its All-Star, Brandon Roy, who missed the game because of a death in the family. (More NBA stories.) Report an error
