A shooter has reportedly been arrested at a Veterans Administration hospital in Dayton, Ohio, after shooting at least one person. One VA worker told reporters that a little after noon a man pulled out a gun in the lobby "and everyone started running," according to WLWT 5. On the police scanner, one officer was heard saying that the suspect "came in looking for someone else to do harm to, didn't find him, and fired at this guy," USA Today reports.

Some buildings at the center were evacuated, as SWAT teams searched the building room-by-room. FBI agents were sent to the scene. Police also surrounded a house in the nearby town of Trotwood as they searched for the shooter, WDTN reports. At one point, they believed the suspect to be driving a GM truck with "disabled vet" tags. Medics have set up a staging area near the center. (More shooting stories.)
