Dave Coulier: He's best known as Full House's Uncle Joey ... or the subject of Alanis Morissette's bitter break-up song, "You Oughta Know." But Coulier insists the latter title does not actually belong on his résumé. After the song came out, he tells BuzzFeed in a new interview, he asked Alanis what he should say to reporters asking if it was about him. "And she said, 'Well, you know it could be a bunch of people. But you can say whatever you want,'" he explains. "So one time, I was doing a red carpet somewhere and [the press] just wore me down and everybody wanted to know so I said, 'Yeah, all right, I’m the guy. There, I said it.' So then it became a snowball effect of, 'OH! So you are the guy!'"
He calls the idea of him as the song's subject an "urban legend," and notes, "the guy in that song is a real a-hole, so I don’t want to be that guy." Coulier, 54, was talking to BuzzFeed in advance of his interview on Oprah: Where Are They Now? Sunday night. So where is he now? Doing stand-up once again ... and not singing "You Oughta Know" at karaoke because, he says, "I don’t think I could get that drunk." (Interestingly, in 2008, Coulier actually said he was the subject of the song.)
