Three men convicted in a state court of illegal hunting in Nevada—a lot of illegal hunting—might have gotten away with it had they not kept boasting about their kills on Facebook, reports the Reno Gazette-Journal. Instead, wildlife officials eventually stumbled upon a photo of deer shot out of season, and a deeper look revealed that Adrian Acevedo-Hernandez, 36, Jose Luis Montufar-Canales, 31, and J. Nemias Reyes Marin, 31, had been illegally killing not only deer, but songbirds, antelope, and pretty much "everything that moved" all across Nevada, a state wildlife official tells Reuters.

Authorities say the men were killing for sport, not food. "These are people who, for whatever reason, don't want to shoot at paper targets anymore and go out and kill stuff for fun," says the state official. But Nevada wildlife shouldn't have to fear them anymore: All three are allegedly entered the country illegally, and they face a slew of federal charges (including felony firearms offenses) along with likely deportation.
