Another window-washing story is in the news, this one scarier than the close call in New York City. In today's incident, a window washer in San Francisco's financial district fell 11 stories onto a moving car—and survived, reports the San Francisco Chronicle. Incredibly, the unidentified man was conscious when paramedics arrived, and he is now in critical condition. The driver of the car wasn't injured, though the car itself was heavily damaged, reports NBC Bay Area.

Investigators are trying to figure out what happened, with a police official saying only that the man "fell off the apparatus" as he and a partner were setting up the platform to start work. His partner was not injured. It's also possible that the worker fell from the building's roof and not the platform itself, reports USA Today. (Either way, expect a renewed call for robots to take over this line of work.)
