Michael Brown's Family Might Sue Wilson: Lawyer

Darren Wilson may have resigned yesterday, but the family of Michael Brown is going to "look at every legal avenue," their lawyer tells CBS today. "The family greatly wanted to have the killer of their unarmed son held accountable," says Benjamin Crump, adding that that could include a wrongful death suit against Wilson or championing a law requiring cops to wear cameras. "They just feel that's just very cold," he said. "His mother and father don't think Officer Wilson had any consideration for their child. And they wonder if he ever had a conscience." He added that police shouldn't be "cold as ice and see our children as demons."

Crump went on to pillory the grand jury process, which he said "needs to be indicted," and that documents from those proceedings show "you just how partial this prosecutor's office was." He continues: "And we're told to just go on and get over it. Well, we can't continue just to go ahead and get over it. Because these are our children that are being killed." In other bad news for Wilson, Ferguson Mayor James Knowles says that his city and the ex-cop have severed ties, and that Wilson won't be receiving a severance package as a result, reports the AP.
