Anaheim is glad, very glad, that Teemu Selanne came out of retirement. The right wing bagged a hat trick that pushed him past Maurice "Rocket" Richard to No. 25 on the list of all-time scorers. Selanne's two assists also didn't hurt in the Ducks' 6-3 trouncing of the Blackhawks, the Orange County Register reports. On other regulation rinks:

  • A 2-0 Avalanche lead was swiftly buried by three straight Edmonton goals, as Colorado saw the return of captain Joe Sakic marred by a 3-2 loss to the second-worst team in the conference.
  • Ilya Bryzgalov pitched a no-hitter for Phoenix as a struggling St. Louis fell back 2-0.
