More than coincidence? A Nebraska couple's last two children were born on the very same exit ramp as they drove excitedly to a midwife's clinic, the Omaha World-Herald reports. On Thursday, husband Hugh Kam had to actually catch the baby when it was born in the family Lexus on the I-80 exit ramp at 42nd Street in Omaha. "You’ve got to catch her, or she’s going to go on the floor!" wife Sarah recalls telling him. "He stopped, reached over, and caught her real quick." Hugh says he worried for a moment because little Evelyn's face was dark. But Sarah quickly wrapped her up in a blanket and was soon in bed with her at the clinic. "They’re healthy and happy," says Hugh.

Both times, Sarah's labor pains inspired the couple to hop in the car, and both times they just fell short. Last February, "I kind of panicked" after Ezra was born on the off-ramp, Sarah says. So they drove to the Nebraska Medical Center, where Hugh ran inside and announced that his wife "had a baby in the car," the World-Herald reports. They told him to bring her in, but "no, he explained she HAD A BABY IN THE CAR." This time Hugh was "tense despite handling things well," Metro reports, and Sarah had fun telling friends and family about it afterwards. If they have another child—it would be their fourth—Sarah says they might just park at the clinic "a month early or something, or as soon as the first contraction hits." (More birth stories.)
