The Wizards stormed back from an 11-point halftime deficit against one of the West's best teams, knocking off the Hornets 95-92 on DeShawn Stevenson's buzzer-beating fadeaway three-pointer. It was a fitting conclusion on a career 33-point evening for Stevenson. The shot concluded a chippy, foul-intensive final minute.

Washington star Antawn Jamison, attempting to carry the team in the absence of powerhouses Caron Butler and Gilbert Arenas, sponsored the attendance of 20 New Orleans children, then suffered through a 3-for-16 night. Chris Paul led the Hornets with 22 points, but his team dropped its third straight game, falling to third place in the ultra-competitive West. (More NBA stories.)
