US border guards shot and wounded an armed Canadian today after the man allegedly walked onto the Ambassador Bridge and pointed a gun at them, the CBC reports. According to US Customs and Border Protection, the officers told him to drop his weapon when he appeared at around 3am on the bridge between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario—but he took aim instead, and was shot, wounded, hospitalized, and taken into custody. He had allegedly stirred up trouble about 20 minutes before at a McDonald's in Windsor, asking police there, "Why haven't you shot me yet?" He'd also had other run-ins with Canadian police and CBP officers on the American side, the CBP says. Homeland Security and Border officials are investigating.
