A woman in Wales ended her year on a high note when she was reunited with her cat Garfield, who'd gone missing seven years earlier. Julie Calder says the tabby went missing after prowling near her home in 2008, and his CAT-nav seems to have malfunctioned. It turns out he was taken in by a family not too far from Calder's home, and when they eventually took him to an adoption center, Calder was tracked down thanks to Garfield's microchip, reports the Telegraph. He'd been grumpy at the adoption center, but upon their reunion, "Julie just picked him up, something we haven't been able to do, and he proceeded to lick her face," a manager says. (Sound familiar? A similar reunion transpired in Iceland earlier this year.)
