ISIS has released a new video claiming that one of its two Japanese hostages has been executed, reports the Wall Street Journal. In the video, hostage Kenji Goto is seen holding a photo of what appears to be the decapitated head and body of fellow hostage Haruna Yukawa. "You were given a deadline, so my captives acted upon their words," says a voice thought to be Goto's. He then says that instead of money, ISIS is demanding the release of a woman named Sajedah Rishawi in Jordan, reports CNN.

"Again, I would like to stress how easy it is to save my life," he says. "You bring them their sister from the Jordanian regime, and I will be released immediately—me for her." The video has not been confirmed, but Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga appeared on TV to condemn the apparent execution, reports Reuters. "This is an outrageous and unacceptable act," he said. "We strongly demand the prompt release of the remaining Mr. Kenji Goto, without harm."
